Final Flight?

Word got through to Johnny Platypus that Lady Elaine and the Germans had been spotted heading towards the local airport.

The Platypus team decided to stake out the airport and attempt to rescue Lady Elaine from the German team. Both sides had to be careful though, the local Constabulary were on patrol and would take a dim view of any gunfire.

Turn 1

Moses spotted Séraphine escorting towards the waiting plane. He whistled for his team to join him. Johnny Platypus taking the opportunity to take down a patrolling German soldier.

Turn 2

Digger Bob spotted Leutnant Heidrich and decided to engage him in a fight. Unfortunately for the 'Old Timer', Leutnant Heidrich knocked him to the ground. Laney leapt to his rescue,but only succeeded in annoying the German officer.

The German soldiers (D8 Grunts) took to the high ground. This gave them a full view across the airport.

Turn 3

Moses tried to snatch Lady Elaine away from Séraphine and Oberst Freudenberger. Getting into a 3-way fistfight led to him suffering a 'Shaken' token.

Elsewhere, Leutnant Heidrich knocked out Laney. This led her enraged husband Stanley to attack him.

Digger Bon got up in a daze and tried to get his bearings.

Turn 4

Seeing Séraphine trying to bundle Lady Elaine into the plane, Johnny Platypus rushed to intervene. He got into a fight with Oberst Freudenberger and managed to knock the German leader down. 

Seeing their leader knocked down, the German troops stationed on the roof opened fire resulting in Moses being knocked out of the game.

Of course this gunfire drew the attention of the patrolling constables. They rushed to the scene and opened fire on the German troops.

Turn 5

The airport was now the scene of a 3-way gunfight. Johnny Platypus and Digger Bob taking hits from German gunfire.

Ironically, the only German casualties came from Constabulary gunfire.

Turn 6

In one last vain attempt, Johnny Platypus tried to reach Lady Elaine. However, he was knocked down and wounded by Séraphine.

With no-one to stop her, Séraphine jumped into the plane alongside Lady Elaine. The pilot gunned the engine and the plane taxied towards the runway.

The German team were again the victors in this game, with another dismal showing for the Platypus team.

Woohoo, first game of 2024! This time we dived into the 'For a Fistful More: Scenarios for Fistful of Lead' scenario book. Picking the first scenario ' The Waterin' Hole ' as the basis for the game. Whilst on a manhunt for the 'Bad Hombres' gang, Marshal Bill and his posse have stopped for some rest and much needed meal. What the Marshal doesn't know is that the 'Bad Hombres' led by Ricardo are about to spring an ambush in the canyon. The posse start surrounding the camp fire. The 'Bad Hombres' start on the high ground in the canyon. Also, they took up the option of  placing a gang member in reserve, with the caveat that he turns up at one end of the canyon within the first three turns. Marshal Bill would get 5 Renown points for killing or capturing Ricardo. Also, he would get 1 Renown point for each of the 'Bad Hombres' killed or captured. We're all going on a Tribble hunt!

Inspired by the 'Attack Tribble' that appeared in an episode of Star Trek: Picard, I found some suitable miniatures that would lend themselves to gaming. The Attack Tribble from Star Trek: Picard I purchased these Triblite sculpts (designed by Lost Heresy) from a TwistedPinnacle3D on Etsy . The sculpts needed a little TLC upon arrival, as a few of the Triblites were misprinted. Also, some of the base rims had broken and neded repairing. Triblite Queen and Swarms protect their nest. More Triblite Swarms. I managed to create some Xenos Rampant stats for my Klingons and Triblites and had a quick game with them both. Klingons attack the Queen. Triblite Swarms charge some Klingons. Klingons find themselves surrounded by Triblites.

28mm 3d printed Star Trek style warp shuttle

Earlier this year, there was a Kickstarter run by 2nd Dynasty for some 28mm compatible spaceships. I was pleased to see that one of the ships (a shuttle) was available as a Warp Shuttle variant and looked very suitable for Star Trek. However, my initial interest was then dampened by the fact that the Kickstarter was just for the files and that you would have to print the ships yourself. Not having a 3d printer, I let my interest wane. My interest was recently renewed by a couple of threads on Lead Adventure Forum and The Miniatures Page. Another wargamer had one of the 2nd Dynasty ships custom printed for him. More importantly the printer they used was based in the UK.
