First game of Zona Alfa

Image
Zona Alfa is a set of simple, fast-play skirmish rules for scavenging, exploring, and surviving in a near-future, post-apocalyptic Eastern European setting. Now I don't have much Eastern European scenery to hand and my Neo-Soviets troops are still being painted up. So I set this first game in the USA, drawing inspiration from the film "The Crazies". On 26th February 2010, a US military aircraft crashed near Ogden Marsh, Iowa. The cargo was a prototype bioweapon (Trixie virus) designed to be a deadly biological weapon and used to destabilize an enemy behind the front lines. However, due to the crash, the cargo ended up contaminating the local water supply and spreading virus further. Despite attempts by the US Government at containment, the virus spread through the water supply and effected the Tristate area. As a result, a quarantine zone was set up and enforced. We played Game One in Part 10 of the book. We went with two 10K teams. The 'Merc' team was ...

Finally, finished the painting of the exterior of my Warp Shuttle. A combination of reds and greys has it looking suitably Starfleet. Now for the interior!

28mm 3d printed Star Trek shuttle

Over the festive period I managed to make a start on the painting of my shuttle. First up, the warp engines have been detailed. Light grey paint is used on any raised panels and dark grey paint in recessed panels. The engine colours are based on the schemes used in the Next Generation. Warp Engines With the warp engines completed, I've painted the upper section of the hull. Both the upper section and warp engines received a base coat of Humbrol Matt Grey spray. Upper Section Again, light grey paint is used on any raised panels and dark grey paint in recessed panels. I then added some additional red trimming. Also, the thrusters have had a coat of sandy yellow (appears darker in the photos). Next up is the lower hull and the internal equipment sections.

A slimlined warband for Frostgrave solo

Image
Happy New Year! Over the festive period, I managed to get a game of solo Frostgrave played. One of the things I rapidly discovered is the bookkeeping required for a sizable war band and the enemy forces gets tedious quickly. So, I decided to slim down the size of my war band to a more manageable size - effectively going from 10 figures to 5 figures (including the Wizard). More importantly, there is no Apprentice! Now my solo war band comprises of the following. Wizard : Gandwarf the Grey School: Elementalist M F S A W H Level:1 Experience: 6 +2 +0 10 +4 14 Current Health: Items (max 5): Sword Notes: Dwarf Home Base Inn The Vault The Treasury (gc) Spell Name School Casting Number ...
