Maid Marian and Her Merry Men Take to the Tabletop

Image
Maid Marian and Her Merry Men was a British children’s comedy series produced by the BBC that aired from 1989 to 1994. Created and written by Tony Robinson (best known for his role as Baldrick in Blackadder) the show offered a deliberately irreverent and subversive take on the traditional Robin Hood legend. Rather than presenting Robin as the noble hero, it gleefully inverted expectations. In this version, Maid Marian (Kate Lonergan) is the true leader and intellectual driving force behind the Merry Men, while Robin Hood (Wayne Morris) is reimagined as a vain, self-obsessed, and rather dim figure, more concerned with his appearance and musical ambitions than with heroism. As Michael wrestles with his transformation, Sam and the Frogs race to uncover the truth and save him. The only way to break the curse? Kill the head vampire. But figuring out who that is… well, that’s where things...

Reaper Villagers

I picked up these Reaper Miniatures from one of their Kickstarters. To be honest, I'd totally forgotten about them, until the parcel turned. I think I backed them back in 2019 and the Kickstarter got delayed by Covid and was delivered earlier this year. These were an absolute joy to paint, and it was nice to be able to use some brighter paint colours that I own.
