Dead Set Britain

Cruising through the empty streets, Jezza and the gang stumbled upon a promising spot for exploration: three houses and a construction site that looked ripe for looting.

They pulled up in the Transit and quickly devised a plan. Jezza and Captain Slow would tackle two of the houses, while Hamster and Stig would take on the remaining one and the construction site.

Turn 1

Captain Slow sprinted to the first house. Finding the front door locked, he took a chance and kicked it in with a crash. Jezza bolted past him, heading straight upstairs. Meanwhile, Stig leapt out of the Transit and dashed to take cover behind a maroon Rover parked on the street.

Hamster quickly realized the commotion had attracted the attention of the zombies nearby. Without hesitation, he pulled out his trusty pistol and fired at one of the undead. He missed, but the shot did its job—drawing the zombies toward him instead.

Turn 2

Jezza and Captain Slow charged upstairs toward the loot token, but after failing their dice rolls for a third action, they fell just short of uncovering what the loot was. Seizing the moment, Stig sprinted toward the construction site. Meanwhile, Hamster, using his skills as a thief, slipped past the zombies unnoticed and quietly crept toward one of the houses.

Turn 3

Captain Slow searched the loot token and was rewarded with a rifle. Jezza, meanwhile, headed back downstairs to check out what was happening on the street. Over at the construction site, Stig climbed a set of ladders, luring zombies toward his position. Luckily, he was now on a higher level—just in time, as a fast zombie had spawned in the last zombie phase and would have caught him if he’d still been on the ground.

At the house, Hamster broke in quietly. Fortunately, the noise didn’t draw any unwanted zombie attention.

Turn 4

Stig searched the loot and found a first aid kit (medicine). Unfortunately, he was stuck. While the zombies couldn’t climb ladders, they crowded below, cutting off his way back down to the ground floor.

Meanwhile, Jezza and Captain Slow moved quietly toward the second house they were tasked with searching.

Turn 5

Hamster finished searching his loot token, but found nothing of value. Meanwhile, Jezza and Captain Slow reached the final house, only to discover the door was locked—it would have to be forced open on their next turn.

Back at the construction site, Stig had a flash of inspiration. Spotting a ladder, he used it to bridge the gap between the building and the site office. With the zombies watching eagerly from below, he carefully crawled across to safety.

Turn 6

Jezza and Captain Slow forced the door open, and Jezza dashed upstairs in search of loot while Captain Slow stood guard. Meanwhile, Stig climbed down from the roof of the site office and sprinted toward Captain Slow. Unfortunately, the zombies weren’t far behind, and the fast zombie managed to catch up with him. Luckily for Stig, the fast zombie failed to land a blow.

Turn 7

Jezza searched the final loot but came up empty-handed. Meanwhile, Stig managed to take down the fast zombie in combat and quickly darted around the corner, pulling the horde of zombies away from Captain Slow.

Turn 8

Captain Slow made his way to the back of the house and smashed open a window. Jezza came downstairs, leapt through the now-open window, and quickly caught up with the retreating Stig. Across the street, Hamster attempted to create a diversion, only to realize his pistol was out of bullets.

Turn 9

Hamster made it back to the Transit van and could do nothing but wait for the others to arrive. Jezza and Stig sprinted around the back of a house, a large horde of zombies hot on their heels.

Meanwhile, Captain Slow was locked in hand-to-hand combat with three zombies, his trusty cricket bat and pads proving invaluable as they shielded him from harm.

Turn 10

Jezza and Stig made it back to the van just in time, as more vicious zombies began to spawn. But where was Captain Slow?

Unfortunately, he was still locked in hand-to-hand combat with the three zombies. One of them knocked him to the ground, while another managed to land a hit, leaving him wounded. Despite the odds, Captain Slow was still alive—and still fighting.

Turn 11

Left alone with no chance of rescue, Captain Slow finally succumbed to the relentless zombie onslaught.

Meanwhile, Jezza, Hamster, and Stig sat safely in the Transit van. It was a bittersweet victory—one medical pack recovered, but at the cost of losing Captain Slow and his newly acquired rifle.

Still, the fight wasn’t over. They would carry on.

  1. Great report from your first game. We lost one of our four the first time we played. In fact, it wasn't till our third game that all of our survivors...well, survived! Hope you had fun with the rules. Your game looks great!

  2. Thanks for the comment Mike. For simple rules, the game can be hard, especially when the dice aren't your friend!

  3. Very nice. And for a mere dollar? You can’t go wrong at that price. I reckon I need to download a copy 😉
