Crew of the Wayfinder: Lives Behind the Blasters

Meet the crew of the Wayfinder -  a battle-scarred freighter held together by grit, luck, and the stubborn will of its owners. Part smugglers, part freedom fighters, and part opportunists, this crew doesn’t follow the rules - they write their own! Bound by loyalty, survival, and a shared stake in the ship they own, the Wayfinder crew is carving out a name for themselves across the stars, one skirmish at a time. Cap’in – Human (Leader, Majority Owner) Traits: Deadeye (+1 Shoot), Veteran (d12 for all rolls), Master of Melee (roll 2 dice, 3 with 2 card) Gear: Blaster Pistol, Recovered Lightsaber Quote: “I didn’t survive all this to take orders. I give them.” Bio: Once an officer-in-training, Cap’in turned her back on the endless wars to carve her own path. Pooling favours and credits, she bought into the Wayfinder and claimed majority share. On a recent mission, she recovered a mysterious lightsaber, a relic that marks her as something more than just a smuggler. Bra...

Salvage Crew

The Wayfinder drifted lazily through hyperspace, her engines humming at a steady, comfortable pitch. After a string of uneventful cargo runs, the crew were soaking in the rare luxury of downtime. In her cabin, Cap’in reclined on her bunk, eyes half-closed, drifting between rest and idle thought. The quiet was shattered by a crackle from the intercom. With a sigh, she reached back and flicked the switch. “What is it?” Spike’s voice carried through from the cockpit. “Sorry to interrupt nap time, boss, but you’ve got a Priority One call coming in.” Cap’in frowned. “Priority One? That’s usually reserved for when things are about to blow up.” “Should I patch it through?” Spike asked. “Do it,” she replied, then added, “And Spike, no eavesdropping.” “Yeah, yeah. Not like I’d ever…” His voice trailed off with mock offense. Static hissed for a moment, then resolved into a familiar voice. “Cap’in.” Cap’in sat up straighter. “General Syndulla. Didn’t expect to hear from you so soon. This ano...

More Grimdark Civilians from Across the Realms

Image
The Across the Realms line continues to deliver when it comes to characterful, grimdark miniatures that feel right at home in dystopian sci-fi and gothic fantasy settings. A new batch of sculpts adds even more depth to the civilian side of our tabletop worlds. This latest collection includes a diverse cast of characters, each brimming with narrative potential: Boy & Girl Urchins – Perfect for hive city alleyways, underhive encounters, or fantasy street scenes. The Boy at the back has had a hand swap Street Dealer – Shady and sharp, this figure screams black market dealings or cyberpunk intrigue. Factory Worker – Covered in grime and fatigue, ideal for industrial zones or labour revolts. Burly Citizen  – A rugged, working-class figure who could be a dockworker, enforcer, or disgruntled local. Slob Chefs  – Possibly my favourite of the bunch - equal parts comic relief and culinary chaos. Grimdark Nun  – A versatile version, ideal for gothic fantasy games like Fr...

Echoes of the Eye

Image
The cantina throbbed with murmured conversation and the soft clink of glasses. A jizz band meandered through an off-key set in the background, more distraction than entertainment. In a booth swallowed by shadows - lit only by the twitchy flicker of a dying wall sconce - General Hera Syndulla sat nursing a drink she hadn’t touched. Across from her, the captain of the Wayfinder watched her in silence, arms folded, eyes unreadable. “You’ve built a reputation,” Hera said at last, voice low. “Fast ship. Tight crew. Enough dirt under your boots to be interesting.” Cap’in leaned back with a crooked half-smile. “Interesting’s one word. We prefer ‘invisible.’ Go on.” Hera's eyes narrowed. “Out beyond the Drift. Rogel-X. Red supergiant. Unstable. Days from going nova. But before it does… there’s something near it. Something buried.” Cap’in’s gaze sharpened. “Where?” “Asteroid J-267. Cut from the rock during the High Republic. Old Jedi site. Lost to time.” Hera lowered her voice further. “Th...
