Crew of the Wayfinder: Lives Behind the Blasters

Meet the crew of the Wayfinder - a battle-scarred freighter held together by grit, luck, and the stubborn will of its owners. Part smugglers, part freedom fighters, and part opportunists, this crew doesn’t follow the rules - they write their own! Bound by loyalty, survival, and a shared stake in the ship they own, the Wayfinder crew is carving out a name for themselves across the stars, one skirmish at a time.

Cap’in – Human (Leader, Majority Owner)

  • Traits: Deadeye (+1 Shoot), Veteran (d12 for all rolls), Master of Melee (roll 2 dice, 3 with 2 card)

  • Gear: Blaster Pistol, Recovered Lightsaber

  • Quote: “I didn’t survive all this to take orders. I give them.”

Bio: Once an officer-in-training, Cap’in turned her back on the endless wars to carve her own path. Pooling favours and credits, she bought into the Wayfinder and claimed majority share. On a recent mission, she recovered a mysterious lightsaber, a relic that marks her as something more than just a smuggler.

Brains – Twi’lek (Specialist, Co-owner)

  • Traits: Strategist (extra card), Indomitable (remove Shock with 2 actions), Deadeye (+1 Shoot)

  • Gear: Blaster Rifle

  • Quote: “The galaxy’s a game. I just play it better.”

Bio: Raised on Ryloth and trained in tactical warfare, Brains became a master strategist before he could legally pilot a speeder. Now, he is the crew’s quiet anchor, a cool-headed tactician and strategist who balances Cap’in’s boldness, ensuring the crew always has a fighting chance. Calculating, calm, and always two steps ahead, Brains bought into the Wayfinder to ensure he’d never again serve under another’s command.

Choppa – Weequay (Co-owner)

  • Traits: Lunge (Close Combat at 2”)

  • Gear: Halberd (Melee/Blaster hybrid)

  • Quote: “I don’t bend. I don’t break. I don’t run.”

Bio: A former pit fighter turned mercenary, Choppa bought into the Wayfinder with blood-earned credits. His strength and loyalty are the backbone of the crew, and though his manner is rough, he treats the ship as his first true home.

Spike – Nikto (Co-owner)

  • Traits: Armoured (-1 to be hit, -1 wound against you, -1” per action)

  • Gear: Blaster Pistol

  • Quote: “I don’t need a reason. Just a target.”

Bio: Raised in the shadow of Hutt rule, Spike walked away from servitude to claim ownership of something real. The Wayfinder is his freedom, and his armour and grit make him an immovable wall in battle.

5E-X1 “5E” – Droid

  • Traits: Soulless (no Shock, enemies +1 to Shoot vs. you), Lousy Shot (-1 Shoot)

  • Gear: Blaster Pistol

  • Quote: “Directive received. Probability of survival: irrelevant.”

Bio: Originally built for survivalist scouting, 5E was discarded after a glitch made it unpredictable. Cap’in salvaged and reprogrammed it, and now it serves as the crew’s engineer and maintenance droid. 5E has no stake in the Wayfinder, but its emotionless efficiency and willingness to march into danger make it indispensable. 5E doesn’t understand fear, friendship, or finesse, but it understands orders, and that’s usually enough. Despite its unsettling demeanor, its presence is strangely reassuring, and it has earned its place among the crew.

Winnwakka – Wookie Warrior

  • Traits: Ferocious (+1 Wound in Close Combat), Concealed Weapon (2 dice in CC once per game, 3 with 2 card)

  • Gear: Blaster Pistol

  • Quote: “Rrrrowrr raaaghh, wyaaaagghh rrroowwrr wrrhhooo wyaaaarrgh!” (Stand with me, and I will never let you fall).

Bio: A warrior cast adrift after clashes with Trandoshan slavers, Winnwakka found belonging with the Wayfinder crew. Though not an owner, his loyalty is absolute, and his towering presence makes him both shield and hammer for his comrades.

Jugro – Rodian Opportunist

  • Traits: Two-Gunned (dual pistols, Burst fire, ammo safe unless two 1s), Coward (must roll 5+ to enter Close Combat)

  • Gear: Two Blaster Pistols

  • Quote: “I may run, but I shoot first.”

Bio: Jugro’s nerves hardened after countless skirmishes, but one recent mission changed him forever: a shapeshifter ambushed him in close combat, nearly ending his life. Since then, the Rodian’s instinct is to avoid melee at all costs, the experience leaving him with a palpable edge of fear. He jokes about it, but the others know the wound runs deeper than he admits.

Yirn Nas – Ithorian Specialist (New Recruit)

  • Traits: Concealed Weapon (2 dice in CC once per game, 3 with 2 card), Deadeye (+1 Shoot)

  • Gear: Blaster Rifle

  • Quote: “Even in war, there is a path that preserves the spirit.”

Bio: The newest recruit to the Wayfinder, Yirn balances calm Ithorian philosophy with the harsh necessities of combat. He lends quiet wisdom and a steady aim to the crew, adding a fresh layer to their dynamic.
