Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Starfleet Crew

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (DS9) is set on a space station located near the planet Bajor and the strategically vital Bajoran wormhole, which provides access to the distant Gamma Quadrant. The series begins shortly after the Cardassian occupation of Bajor ends, with Commander Benjamin Sisko assigned to take command of Deep Space Nine, the former Cardassian mining station.

Throughout the series, DS9 becomes a hub of activity as it deals with threats from the Dominion, a powerful empire from the Gamma Quadrant, eventually leading to all out war between the Alpha Quadrant and the Dominion.

Notable Starfleet crew members include Dr. Julian Bashir, the station’s chief medical officer; Jadzia Dax, a Trill science officer and Miles O'Brien, the Chief Engineer.

Similar story to Voyager, there have never been any official or unofficial miniatures created based on the crew of DS9. Having looked at commissioning my own miniatures and been put off by the cost, I looked at adapting alternatives. I found a range of 'Starship Crew' sold by Sally 4th. The figures are wearing s Star Trek inspired uniform. Also, the range allows a degree of customization with separate heads and separate arms. Using the arms from Sally 4th and raiding by bits box for the heads, I was able to create a 'pseudo' DS9 Starfleet crew.

I'm still looking for alternatives for Major Kira and Odo.

Woohoo, first game of 2024! This time we dived into the 'For a Fistful More: Scenarios for Fistful of Lead' scenario book. Picking the first scenario ' The Waterin' Hole ' as the basis for the game. Whilst on a manhunt for the 'Bad Hombres' gang, Marshal Bill and his posse have stopped for some rest and much needed meal. What the Marshal doesn't know is that the 'Bad Hombres' led by Ricardo are about to spring an ambush in the canyon. The posse start surrounding the camp fire. The 'Bad Hombres' start on the high ground in the canyon. Also, they took up the option of  placing a gang member in reserve, with the caveat that he turns up at one end of the canyon within the first three turns. Marshal Bill would get 5 Renown points for killing or capturing Ricardo. Also, he would get 1 Renown point for each of the 'Bad Hombres' killed or captured. We're all going on a Tribble hunt!

Inspired by the 'Attack Tribble' that appeared in an episode of Star Trek: Picard, I found some suitable miniatures that would lend themselves to gaming. The Attack Tribble from Star Trek: Picard I purchased these Triblite sculpts (designed by Lost Heresy) from a TwistedPinnacle3D on Etsy . The sculpts needed a little TLC upon arrival, as a few of the Triblites were misprinted. Also, some of the base rims had broken and neded repairing. Triblite Queen and Swarms protect their nest. More Triblite Swarms. I managed to create some Xenos Rampant stats for my Klingons and Triblites and had a quick game with them both. Klingons attack the Queen. Triblite Swarms charge some Klingons. Klingons find themselves surrounded by Triblites.

Massacre at Briar's Bend - A Fistful of Lead Game

Another scenario from 'For a Fistful More: Scenarios for Fistful of Lead' with the third scenario "Massacre at Briar's Bend". This time, Marshal Bill and his Posse get to have a rest, as for this scenario, it is Native American Braves versus the US Cavalry. A Cavalry patrol has set up camp amongst some rocks by a river. The Cavalry are armed with (not so trusty) carbines and pistols. In this scenario, if a carbine suffers a '1' when shooting, the player rolls a dice and if the result is odd, then suffers an additional 'out of ammo' token. The Braves start in two group of 5, in the opposite corners not covered by woods. To add a bit of drama to the game, the game length would only be determined at the start of Turn 6. Rolling a D10, a result of 1-6 would mean the game lasts 6 turns, any other result would the number of turns the game lasts.
