It's been a long road, getting from there to here...

Star Trek: Enterprise is a science-fiction television series that aired from 2001 to 2005 and ran for four seasons. Set in the 22nd century, roughly a century before the adventures of Captain James T. Kirk in Star Trek: The Original Series, it serves as a prequel that explores humanity's earliest ventures into deep space aboard the Enterprise NX-01, Earth's first starship capable of Warp 5 travel.

Unlike its predecessors, Enterprise focuses on a time when humanity is still finding its place among the stars. The crew's pioneering missions bring them into contact with species such as the Klingons, Vulcans, Andorians, and Xindi, while charting the political and diplomatic events that would eventually lead to the formation of the United Federation of Planets.

Although Star Trek: Enterprise struggled to attract viewers during its original broadcast and was cancelled in 2005 after four seasons, it has since earned a reputation as one of the franchise's most underrated entries. Many fans have come to appreciate its exploration of Starfleet's formative years, its strong character development, and its role in expanding the lore of the Star Trek universe.

The series is perhaps best remembered for one of the most divisive opening themes in Star Trek history. Breaking with the franchise's tradition of orchestral title music, Enterprise opened with the pop ballad "Where My Heart Will Take Me", adapted from "Faith of the Heart" and performed by Russell Watson. While controversial among longtime fans at the time, the song has since become an iconic and nostalgic part of the show's identity.

Alongside Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and Star Trek: Voyager, Star Trek: Enterprise has long been overlooked by miniature manufacturers and wargamers alike. Finding suitable figures to represent Starfleet personnel of the NX-01 era has been difficult enough, but locating miniatures of the show's main cast has been virtually impossible.

Thankfully, Drakonius has come to the rescue with a range of character models available on Bambu MakerWorld. Scaled down to 28mm, the figures printed cleanly with excellent detail and proved a pleasure to paint, taking acrylics exceptionally well. At last, fans of Enterprise can field recognisable representations of Archer, T'Pol, Trip and the rest of the crew on the tabletop.
