Chapter 2: Captured

This was a Pulp game based on the scenario of the same name for .45 Adventure. However, for this game, we used the Galactic Heroes set of rules.

Following on from the events in Chapter 1, The Crimson Scarf has been captured by his enemies. Valiantly resisting the wily charms of Lou, The Crimson Scarf hopes his friends and colleagues will rescue him.

Replacing The Crimson Scarf on his roster, is Wrought Iron Man (WIM). The brainchild of an eccentric inventor, WIM can fly, is armoured and wields steam powered blasters!

In opposition, the Jade Hood has called on one of his loyal lieutenants - Lou, to guard and extract any information from The Crimson Scarf. Lou is ably assisted by the usual Hired Guns and Local Muscle.

Bang, bang

The heroes activated first. Bridget Rouke hid behind a pile of old tyres. Using her trusty pistol, she took aim at the nearest Hired Gun and successfully wounded him.

Given this distraction, Grasshopper and Big Mo decided to close in on the Hired Guns, before they could make use of the advantage their weapons provided.

What's going on here?
Disturbed by the noise outside, the Local Muscle burst of the warehouse. Two of them decided to take on Grasshopper. This proved to be a big mistake, Grasshopper successfully inflicting wounds on both them. The other Local Muscle attacked Big Mo. An exercise in futility, as one punch from the former boxer sent the Local Muscle flying.

Someone call an ambulance!
Big Mo didn't get to enjoy his success. One of the Hired Guns swung his rifle at Mo and sent him sprawling. Mo was down for the count! With no-one left to fight, Grasshopper attacked the Hired Gun, only to suffer the same fate as Big Mo. Two turns in and the heroes were already two characters down!

Carnage I tell you...
With the heroes either out of range (Bridget) or down & out (Big Mo and Grasshopper), the villains set about recovering from wounds or removing shaken tokens.

Here I am to save the day!
With all the carnage taking place on the street, Wrought Iron Man has successfully landed on the roof of the warehouse. Quickly unlocking the roof trapdoor, the metal man waited for an opportunity to strike.

The power of steam.
Jumping down through the hatch, Wrought Iron Man successfully knocked Lou out of the fight! The dame was no match for steam powered blasters!

Gotcha!
As the villains started to recover from their wounds, Bridget began to attract a lot of attention of the wrong sort. Although inflicting wounds with her trusty pistol, the hail of bullets coming from the other direction was too much and she went down.

Making a break for it!
After being untied by Wrought Iron Man, The Crimson Scarf used the distraction outside to effect an escape.

Keep still!
Whilst The Crimson Scarf escaped, Wrought Iron Man held off any potential pursuers.

Have you heard of steam powered flight?
After suffering a wound, Wrought Iron Man decided upon a tactical withdrawal, jumping out of a window and flying away.

The heroes achieved their aim of rescuing The Crimson Scarf, receiving their award of 5xp. The only downside being that Big Mo would not be available for the next chapter.

Despite coming close to taking out all of the heroes, the villains were left with nothing.

  1. Sorry I missed this earlier. Glad you are enjoying the rules. They pretty much work for anything, if I do say so myself.
