A warband and campaign for Frostgrave Perilous Dark

Recently, a new supplement was released that provided sole rules for playing Frostgrave. With this release I used this as an opportunity to create a new warband for Frostgrave.

Ever since I started playing Frostgrave, I've wanted to use a Lord of the Rings inspired warband, so with Perilous Dark I've done just that.

First up, my Wizard and Apprentice.

Gandwarf and Roryn

Now the Fellowship of the Ring didn't have a second wizard to count as an Apprentice. So I needed to add another character. According to one LOTR name generator, Roryn is my Middle Earth human name.

Both my Wizard and Apprentice belong to the Elementalist school of magic. I've seen it mentioned that Gandalf would probably have belonged to the Thaumaturge school, but I like playing Elementalists too much. So the table shows the starting stats for my spell selection.

Next up the Soldiers part of my warband. The names and types are 'inspired' by the other members of the Fellowship of the Ring.

L to R: Catherine of Aragorn, Boromor, Gimmi & Legolan

L to R: Lively, Freddo, Cooker & Poppin

Now I recognise the Soldier types I've selected have taken me over the 'official' starting cost limits, but it's my solo game, so there!

Regarding the campaign itself. I plan to run through some of the solo scenarios documented in the other Frostgrave supplements, as well as using the dungeon crawl rules established in Perilous Dark.

However, here is a list of the scenarios I plan to run through.

  1. They Mostly Come At Night - from The Wizards' Conclave.
  2. Old Scores - from The Wizards' Conclave.
  3. The Attack Site - from The Frostgrave Folio.
  4. Field Research - from The Frostgrave Folio.
  5. The House of the Golem - from The Frostgrave Folio.
  6. Alchemical Monstrosity - from The Frostgrave Folio.
  7. Skeletal Run - from The Frostgrave Folio.
  8. The Spreading Flames - from The Frostgrave Folio.
Hopefully, this will keep me busy in the short term!
