He's out back - Star Wars Redux

Another scenario from 'For a Fistful More: Scenarios for Fistful of Lead'. This time a variation of the "Jack's out back" scenario played with a Star Wars vibe.

Back from the previous adventure is Mando, IG-11 and the rest of there crew. This time they've been hired to bring in a bounty on a Trandoshan and his crew.

Mando and his crew have tracked down the Trandoshan and have patiently waited for a moment to catch him on his own.

They spot the Trandoshan heading towards the outhouse and take their chance to capture him. Mando activates first, his first action to move to the outhouse, his second action demolishes the outhouse door (that D12 proving very useful!).

The Trandoshan strikes back, engaging Mando in close combat and successfully pushing back and inflicting Shock on Mando.

Shooting from a high position, the Insect Bounty Hunter shot at Mando and forced him to duck back behind some rocks. Mandalorian armour proved to be very ineffective in this game.


The trio of Gamorreans (Grunts) charged into close combat. Unfortunately, for the two that engaged the Crazy Alien, they were quickly dispatched. The remaining Gamorrean charged IG-11, who had just shot down the Trandoshan.


The Crazy Alien then charged down the remaining Gamorrean and swiftly dispatched him. The remaining characters exchanged blaster fire (pew pew!).


Despite lots of characters being caught out in the open, blaster fire proved typically inaccurate. 

IG-11 engaged the Trandoshan in close combat, with neither inflicting any hits on the other. Seeing their boss in trouble, both Snaggletooth and the Twi'lek Major Domo tried to rush over to him. The Twi'lek got gunned down and Snaggletooth finally got IG-11 in his sights - only for his blaster to malfunction!


The Twi'lek Major Domo played the 'Queen of Hearts' and healed himself. He got up of fthe floor, fired his blaster pistol twice and missed. For all his efforts, he got gunned down again.

IG-11 finally manged to subdue the Trandoshan - now to get him off the table!



Snaggletooth repaired his blaster and chased down the retreating IG-11. Firing twice, Snaggletooth missed both times.

Mando fired at point blank range at Snaggletooth and missed both times.

The Insect Bounty Hunter (still up on the roof) tried his best to stop IG-11. Like all his shooting attempts in this game, they missed the target.



The Trandoshan was safely escorted off the table by IG-11, handing the win to Mando and his crew.

This really was a game of 'what if'. Mando ended up being a non-entity in this game, consistently failing armour roles and ducking back into cover. IG-11 did suffer hits and did fail armour rolls. However, poor rolling on the Wound table meant he just suffered from Shock and being 'Soulless' ignored Shock. The rest of the characters proved unable to hit the proverbial 'barn door'.

Woohoo, first game of 2024! This time we dived into the 'For a Fistful More: Scenarios for Fistful of Lead' scenario book. Picking the first scenario ' The Waterin' Hole ' as the basis for the game. Whilst on a manhunt for the 'Bad Hombres' gang, Marshal Bill and his posse have stopped for some rest and much needed meal. What the Marshal doesn't know is that the 'Bad Hombres' led by Ricardo are about to spring an ambush in the canyon. The posse start surrounding the camp fire. The 'Bad Hombres' start on the high ground in the canyon. Also, they took up the option of  placing a gang member in reserve, with the caveat that he turns up at one end of the canyon within the first three turns. Marshal Bill would get 5 Renown points for killing or capturing Ricardo. Also, he would get 1 Renown point for each of the 'Bad Hombres' killed or captured. We're all going on a Tribble hunt!

Inspired by the 'Attack Tribble' that appeared in an episode of Star Trek: Picard, I found some suitable miniatures that would lend themselves to gaming. The Attack Tribble from Star Trek: Picard I purchased these Triblite sculpts (designed by Lost Heresy) from a TwistedPinnacle3D on Etsy . The sculpts needed a little TLC upon arrival, as a few of the Triblites were misprinted. Also, some of the base rims had broken and neded repairing. Triblite Queen and Swarms protect their nest. More Triblite Swarms. I managed to create some Xenos Rampant stats for my Klingons and Triblites and had a quick game with them both. Klingons attack the Queen. Triblite Swarms charge some Klingons. Klingons find themselves surrounded by Triblites.

28mm 3d printed Star Trek style warp shuttle

Earlier this year, there was a Kickstarter run by 2nd Dynasty for some 28mm compatible spaceships. I was pleased to see that one of the ships (a shuttle) was available as a Warp Shuttle variant and looked very suitable for Star Trek. However, my initial interest was then dampened by the fact that the Kickstarter was just for the files and that you would have to print the ships yourself. Not having a 3d printer, I let my interest wane. My interest was recently renewed by a couple of threads on Lead Adventure Forum and The Miniatures Page. Another wargamer had one of the 2nd Dynasty ships custom printed for him. More importantly the printer they used was based in the UK.
