Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid

Image
I just picked up the "Legends of the West - Butch & Sundance" set from my local wargaming store, made by Great Escape Games. This box set features miniatures of the iconic duo from the 1969 western classic, " Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid ". The film follows the adventures of Wild West outlaws Butch Cassidy (played by Paul Newman) and his partner, the Sundance Kid (Robert Redford). The figures are modeled after the actors' memorable poses from the movie’s final scene, which was also used on the movie poster. "For a moment there I thought we were in trouble"

Another Star Wars version of a scenario from the 'For a Fistful More: Scenarios for Fistful of Lead' This scenario has a different starting sequence. 3 cards are drawn for the gang leaders only, who then have to plan the order in which the cards will be used. The cards are played 1 per turn for the 3 turns, then it's the normal card sequence from turn 4 onwards. The game is over once one side has been eliminated or withdrawn. This time it was a gang led by 'The Mandalorian' (Mando) versus my newly painted 'Frog' gang. Starting Positions. Turn 1 Mando went first and successfully gunned down 'Boss Frog'. However, something really unusual for our games occurred - we had a successful Wound Recovery roll! Boss Frog stood up and dusted himself down. Turn 2 Boss Frog activated first and took the opportunity to duck behind some cover. Mando moved up and took aim - unfortunately his rifle went 'Out of Ammo'. Turn 3 With Mando 'Out of Ammo' and

Another scenario from 'For a Fistful More: Scenarios for Fistful of Lead' scenario book. Marshal Pete and his trusty Deputies (Riley and Hank) have arrived in a sleepy cattle town, only to find that it's under the thumb of a wealthy cattleman and his corrupt sheriff. The Marshal has called out the cattleman, who has sent 5 of his thugs to deal with the Marshal. Playing on a smaller playing area (2' x 2'), each side quite simply had to eliminate the other side. Turn 1 Starting 6" apart, both sides stared each other down. The Marshal went first, deciding to shoot first and ask questions later. Unfortunately, Deputy Riley had forgotten to check whether his Shotgun was loaded and was awarded an 'Out of Ammo' token. The thugs struck back and a well placed shotgun blast wounded Marshal Pete and Deputy Hank, with Deputy Riley being knocked 'Out of the fight'. Turn 2 The 'Queen of Hearts' got Marshal Pete back on his feet. A well placed shot eli
