The Showdown - Star Wars Redux

Another scenario from 'For a Fistful More: Scenarios for Fistful of Lead' scenario book.

Mando, IG-11 and a Weequay thug arrived in a sleepy town, only to discover that it's under the thumb of a ruthless Jawa gang.

Fearing trouble, the Jawa gang mobilise to defend their territory.

Playing on a smaller playing area (2' x 2'), each side quite simply had to eliminate the other side.

Turn 1

Starting 6" apart, both sides stared each other down.


Blaster fire erupted. Mando took a hit that forced him to 'duck back' into cover. One Jawa forgot to load his blaster. IG-11 managed to place get some hits, causing a wound which was recovered from.


Turn 2

As both sides dived for cover. A firefight took place in the local market. The Jawa with the sniper rifle was gunned by the Weequay thug. Another Jawa got revenge by hitting the Weequay with a blast from his shotgun.


In the main street, IG-11 discovered its armour was not sufficient to stop a blaster and down it went. Mando took aim with his rifle and shot down the Jawa who winged IG-11.


Turn 3

Either brave or stupid, the remaining Jawas slowly advanced down the main street. The Weequay found himself exposed in the market and paid the price. Unfortunately for the Jawas, Mando and the recently recovered IG-11 managed to inflict some hits, causing the Jawas to duck back into cover with shock.


Turn 4

As the shock tokens started to mount up for the Jawas, the player (me) decided to do something we rarely do - roll on the 'Shock Recovery' table. Rolling badly, two out of the remaining three Jawa decided to leave the battle. This was a timely reminder why we didn't do recovery rolls!

With the Jawas left with one gang member left, it was down to Mando and IG-11 to hunt him down.


Turns 5 & 6

The battle turned into a game of hide and seek. Eventually IG-11 tracked down the errant Jawa and shot him down.



So, a win for Mando and IG-11. In the next game, they get to take on the rest of the Jawas.

Woohoo, first game of 2024! This time we dived into the 'For a Fistful More: Scenarios for Fistful of Lead' scenario book. Picking the first scenario ' The Waterin' Hole ' as the basis for the game. Whilst on a manhunt for the 'Bad Hombres' gang, Marshal Bill and his posse have stopped for some rest and much needed meal. What the Marshal doesn't know is that the 'Bad Hombres' led by Ricardo are about to spring an ambush in the canyon. The posse start surrounding the camp fire. The 'Bad Hombres' start on the high ground in the canyon. Also, they took up the option of  placing a gang member in reserve, with the caveat that he turns up at one end of the canyon within the first three turns. Marshal Bill would get 5 Renown points for killing or capturing Ricardo. Also, he would get 1 Renown point for each of the 'Bad Hombres' killed or captured. We're all going on a Tribble hunt!

Inspired by the 'Attack Tribble' that appeared in an episode of Star Trek: Picard, I found some suitable miniatures that would lend themselves to gaming. The Attack Tribble from Star Trek: Picard I purchased these Triblite sculpts (designed by Lost Heresy) from a TwistedPinnacle3D on Etsy . The sculpts needed a little TLC upon arrival, as a few of the Triblites were misprinted. Also, some of the base rims had broken and neded repairing. Triblite Queen and Swarms protect their nest. More Triblite Swarms. I managed to create some Xenos Rampant stats for my Klingons and Triblites and had a quick game with them both. Klingons attack the Queen. Triblite Swarms charge some Klingons. Klingons find themselves surrounded by Triblites.

Massacre at Briar's Bend - A Fistful of Lead Game

Another scenario from 'For a Fistful More: Scenarios for Fistful of Lead' with the third scenario "Massacre at Briar's Bend". This time, Marshal Bill and his Posse get to have a rest, as for this scenario, it is Native American Braves versus the US Cavalry. A Cavalry patrol has set up camp amongst some rocks by a river. The Cavalry are armed with (not so trusty) carbines and pistols. In this scenario, if a carbine suffers a '1' when shooting, the player rolls a dice and if the result is odd, then suffers an additional 'out of ammo' token. The Braves start in two group of 5, in the opposite corners not covered by woods. To add a bit of drama to the game, the game length would only be determined at the start of Turn 6. Rolling a D10, a result of 1-6 would mean the game lasts 6 turns, any other result would the number of turns the game lasts.
