The Showdown - A Fistful of Lead game.

Another scenario from 'For a Fistful More: Scenarios for Fistful of Lead' scenario book. Marshal Pete and his trusty Deputies (Riley and Hank) have arrived in a sleepy cattle town, only to find that it's under the thumb of a wealthy cattleman and his corrupt sheriff.

The Marshal has called out the cattleman, who has sent 5 of his thugs to deal with the Marshal.

Playing on a smaller playing area (2' x 2'), each side quite simply had to eliminate the other side.

Turn 1

Starting 6" apart, both sides stared each other down.

The Marshal went first, deciding to shoot first and ask questions later. Unfortunately, Deputy Riley had forgotten to check whether his Shotgun was loaded and was awarded an 'Out of Ammo' token.

The thugs struck back and a well placed shotgun blast wounded Marshal Pete and Deputy Hank, with Deputy Riley being knocked 'Out of the fight'.

Turn 2

The 'Queen of Hearts' got Marshal Pete back on his feet. A well placed shot eliminating one of the thugs and his second shot wounding the thug with the Shotgun.

Unfortunately, Deputy Hank wasn't so lucky, the thugs using the prone Deputy as target practice and sending him 'Out of the fight'.

Turn 3

Marshal Pete again activated first. Deciding that 'retreat was the better part of valor', the Marshal ducked around the corner into cover.

However, one of the thugs chased him, gunning down the Marshal.

Ultimately, a very bad day for the forces of law and order! This game was over in 3 turns. More importantly, this meant we couldn't play the second scenario where the Marshal would take on the cattleman.

As a result, we swapped sides and replayed the scenario. Second time around the Marshal took down the thugs, but alas for the purposes of the blog, we only record the result of the first game.
