The Sontarans were a race of belligerent and militaristic clones from the planet Sontar. They waged an eternal war throughout Mutter's Spiral against the Rutan Host, though they made no effort to change this nor did they want peace.

Cruising through the empty streets, Jezza and the gang stumbled upon a promising spot for exploration: three houses and a construction site that looked ripe for looting.   They pulled up in the Transit and quickly devised a plan. Jezza and Captain Slow would tackle two of the houses, while Hamster and Stig would take on the remaining one and the construction site. Turn 1 Captain Slow sprinted to the first house. Finding the front door locked, he took a chance and kicked it in with a crash. Jezza bolted past him, heading straight upstairs. Meanwhile, Stig leapt out of the Transit and dashed to take cover behind a maroon Rover parked on the street.   Hamster quickly realized the commotion had attracted the attention of the zombies nearby. Bob had a bit of a survivalist streak, and Jezza can't help but wonder if his uncle might still be alive, holed up in that same cottage. The bitter cold of the "Winter of Discontent" gripped the streets of the United Kingdom in 1978–1979. The air was thick with tension as strikes swept the country, paralyzing essential services. Everywhere you looked, there were mountains of rubbish piled up, spilling into the streets like a silent warning of the collapse of order. The once-bustling city centers now reeked of decay and neglect, the towering piles of waste hiding something far worse than the filth of human living. Hospitals, strained by the lack of staff, now only treated emergency cases, but many were too far gone to save.
